VolcanoTracker is a personal finance app designed to help you track spending, set budgets, and understand your financial habits — across any number of accounts and currencies. Your data is stored on a secure server, giving you full privacy and control.
Tap the + button anywhere in the app to open the transaction sheet. VolcanoTracker uses a POS-style amount entry — just tap the digits of the amount, pick a category, choose your account, and tap Save. No forms, no friction.
Tip: The app remembers the last account you used — so you can log a transaction in just a few taps.
When the transaction sheet is open, tap the income toggle (the arrow icon at the top of the sheet) to switch from expense to income. The amount field works exactly the same way.
Find the transaction in the Transactions list or on the Dashboard. Tap it to open the detail view where you can edit any field. To delete, swipe left on the transaction row and tap Delete, or use the delete button inside the detail view.
On the Transactions screen, tap the filter icon to narrow results by category, account, date range, or amount. The search bar at the top lets you find transactions by merchant name or note.
Yes. VolcanoTracker is offline-first — you can log and view transactions without an internet connection. Everything syncs automatically when your connection is restored.
Go to Settings → Accounts → Add account. Give it a name (e.g. "Revolut EUR"), choose the currency, and enter the current balance. You can create as many accounts as you need.
VolcanoTracker supports accounts in any currency. Your net worth is displayed in your base currency, with live exchange rates used to convert balances. Rates are refreshed automatically in the background — no setup needed.
Go to Settings → Accounts, tap the account you want to change, and edit the details or tap Delete account. Deleting an account will also remove all transactions associated with it.
Open the Budgets tab and tap Add budget. Choose a spending category (e.g. Dining, Transport), set a monthly limit, and save. VolcanoTracker tracks your spending in that category in real time and shows a progress bar so you always know where you stand.
Budgets reset at the start of each calendar month. The progress bar shows how much you've spent against your limit for the current month only.
Tap any budget card to see its details. From there you can edit the limit or delete the budget entirely. Deleting a budget does not affect your transaction history.
The Analytics screen shows your account balance over time. Use the time range selector at the top to switch between daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly views. The chart reflects the net balance across all accounts, converted to your base currency.
Scroll down on the Analytics screen to see a breakdown of your spending by category for the selected period. This helps you spot where your money is going at a glance.
When the Add Transaction sheet is open, tap the camera icon to open the receipt scanner. Point your camera at the receipt and hold still for a moment — VolcanoTracker will read the amount, merchant name, date, and suggest a category automatically. Review the details and tap Save to confirm.
AI receipt scanning uses on-device machine learning, which requires an iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPhone 16 or later, running iOS 18.1 or above. The feature will not appear on older devices.
No. Receipt images and the OCR text extracted from them are processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Only the resulting transaction data (amount, merchant, category) is synced to our secure server — your photos never leave your iPhone.
AI parsing accuracy depends on receipt quality, language, and print format. We're continuously improving the model and the feature may occasionally misread amounts or categories on unusual receipts. You can always edit any field before saving — nothing is committed automatically.
Receipt scanning works best with printed receipts in good lighting. If a field is wrong, simply tap it and correct it before saving. If you encounter a consistent issue with a particular receipt format, please let us know at info.volcanotracker@volcanointeractive.com.
VolcanoTracker offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets so your most important numbers are always in view without opening the app:
Widgets refresh automatically, but iOS controls how frequently background updates occur to preserve battery. If your widget seems outdated, open the app briefly — this triggers an immediate sync and the widget will refresh shortly after.
Your transaction data is stored on a secure server operated by Volcano Interactive, hosted within the European Union. It is never shared with third parties, advertisers, or analytics services.
VolcanoTracker collects only the data you enter: transactions, accounts, categories, and budgets. We do not collect usage analytics, crash reports with personal data, or any information about your spending habits. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
CSV export is available from Settings → Export data. This produces a file containing all your transactions, accounts, and categories that you can open in any spreadsheet application.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Confirming deletion permanently removes your account and all associated data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Go to Settings → Account to update your email address or change your password. You'll be asked to confirm your current password before any changes are saved.
On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.
Sign in with the same account on any iPhone to access your data. Everything syncs automatically over your secure connection — changes on one device appear on all others within seconds.
